2018 Races
Thank you for your input and suggestions for this years races. Here are a few reasons to support the decisions made by the club captains:
-Lincoln is the target race for the current 10k focused training group
-Livingston and its relay format was very popular in 2017
-May Day is very local, popular and suggested by members
-Bosworth is accessible, a popular one from 2017 and features in LRRL
-Rothley is local and included in member suggestions
-Bestwood was chosen from all parkrun options, it's free and accessible, plus a smaller event to avoid congestion
-Brooksies had numerous votes from members, value for money
-Three Club Challenge was chairman nominated, Mick wants to keep the trophy!
-Hermitage is well organised, accessible, good value including t-shirt (but hilly) and supports LRRL
-JF10 is the nearest 10m event, always popular with the club, a good warm up for autumn halves
-Calke was suggested by members, and where we had a lot of success in 2017
-Finally Beacon trail offers an alternative half off-road in a beautiful setting
-Those that missed the cut:
Loughborough Half (clash with Hose/Rutland and already three halves included), Derby 10k (one for future, Rothley, Lincoln, Hermitage and Calke 10k's included), Prestwold (to help with event volunteering), HP series (short events included at 3 club, parkrun, Livingston), Swithland (can sell out quickly), Ramathon (as above), Watermead (one for future but we chose Brooksies on popularity), Trailfest (clashed with Equinox but option to do a separate club trip...., Atherstone 10k (see 10k comment above), Shelton 10k, (also 10k comment), Derby 10m (too late for awards night)
