Some really impressive times considering it was apparently 7.23 miles, including one or two hills. On the plus side, everyone will have had a 7.23 mile PB! Well done to Emily, Kate & Mon for picking up the ladies team trophy and Kate & Mon for their vet 40 trophies. Also to Tim for his second place. The men’s team were just pipped by Coritanians but had a good turnout once again. Full results are here. Keep up the good work & see you all at the Joy Cann in August! |

Barrow Runner Pete Wiseman and wife Helen will be running the BUPA Great North Run on September 19th in aid of the British Lung Foundation. Helen’s mum has Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease and is on continuous oxygen. Despite this she has a great sense of humour and tries to be as active as possible. Helen and Pete ran the Nottingham Half and the Dublin Marathon in 2006 to raise money to buy equipment for the Leicester SPRINT (Specialist Respiratory Intervention Team) and Hospital at Home and have decided this year to run the Great North in aid of the British Lung Foundation to raise money for valuable research into lung disease. We would appreciate as much sponsorship as possible from friends and fellow runners at Barrow Runners. Please visit our Virgin Money Giving web page for more details. Many thanks Pete and Helen Wiseman |
