It's been confirmed with John Skevington that this year's Round Leicester Relays are on Sunday 26th September. Apologise for the confusion, wrong date was originally on their website - not our fault! On 5 July Professor Shirley Pearce, Vice Chancellor of Loughborough University presented race secretary Adrian Spencer and social secretary Anna Seddon with a nice big cheque from the University's 'Inside Out' Donations Fund. This fund supports local community groups in which members of the University staff participate. As Barrow attracts a growing number of University staff and students, we're delighted to see our club's efforts recognised by the University and the funding is a welcome boost to support our coaching activities.  |

Its our turn to host the 3 Club Challenge vs Stilton and Wreake on 10 August. So instead of Tues night Barrow run we meet at Rushcliffe Golf Club www.rushcliffegolfclub.com near East Leake for a 5.5 m way marked race (mainly off road). Then at 8pm it's back to the Club House for a buffet. Please bring spare clean trainers and let Anna know if you're there for the buffet (£2 each)

Tues 31 August is our last training run from Woodhouse so we'll be meeting at the Griffin Inn at Swithland (NOT Woodhouse Eaves car park) running at 7pm as usual then back to the pub for chips  A few things to note to help out our friendly pub hosts: please park in the field beyond the pub car park and bring extra trainers if it's mucky underfoot. |
Congratulations to all finishers of the Prestwold 10K The warmest day of the year meant that most people's race pace was slower than normal on Sunday's Prestwold 10 k. Despite the temperatures, OWLS' Paul Richardson ran a superb race to clock 30:46 and come home first. Gordon Lee, from Leicester Coritanians, put in a strong last 2 k to finish second in 31:13, pulling away from Tim Hartley who crossed the line third in 31:22. In the women's race, Diana Lobacevske was first across the line in 36:00 for Beaumont. Nicki Nealon for Huncote was next to finish in 37:05, whilst Tara Krzywicki finished in third for Charnwood in 37:23. Final results can now be downloaded here. See You Next Year!
