The 'Run'down - 05 November 2018

The 'Run'down - 05 November 2018

A good turnout at the Shepshed 7 with Tim Hartley and Ben Plummer finishing second and third respectively. Also a special mention goes to Bob Aird who has competed in the Shepshed 7 since it started 18 years ago and in recognition of this achievement, has been granted free entry for life! Sam Cleveland had a busy weekend which saw him come 1st at the Wolf Run in a course record time of 46:37 and he was 33rd in the Dovedale Dash, where Emily Ault was 3rd lady and Malcolm 'Bomber' Harris was 1st M60.

Also, more marathon feats from Helen James at the Nottingham Round & Round where she was 2nd lady in 3:54. This was her fourth marathon/ultra in as many weeks and her third podium. A little further from home Mandy Hancock and Steve Bailey completed the New York Marathon.

Run to King Power Stadium - 03 November 2018

On Saturday morning Ben Spencer set off to run from Loughborough to the King Power Stadium in memory of Leicester City's Chairman, Khun Vichai, who so sadly and tragically died in a helicopter crash on 27.10.18, alongside four others. He was joined along the way by Club Members Rebecca Chandler, Rebecca Edmonds, Louise Garner, Helen Taylor and Kevin Gamble. On arrival at the Stadium, Ben was met by friends and family and signed the Book of Condolence. Ben had decided to raise money for the Leicester Children's Hospital, the charity which Vichai had generously supported. By Saturday evening the total had reached £1,000.00; the JustGiving page is still open for donations:

Ben has been overwhelmed by the support he has received and would particularly like to thank Barrow Runners for their support and donations.
