There was a great turnout for the latest club champions race - Brooksie's Bash, a 10 mile trail race in South Derbyshire. Well done to everyone who ran, particularly Karen Bell who was third female and first in her age category!

Plenty of Barrow action in the Notts Grand Prix Series, a smattering of half marathon and 10k performances, and Andy Simpson successfully completes the Lake District’s legendary Bob Graham Round.

This was a very busy week with Friday night races, Saturday parkruns and Sunday league races! Barrow hosted another fantastic Prestwold 10K, with a second place victory for Tim Hartley.

An excellent few days of running for youngster Ben Hewson - first Barrow Runner home at Rothley 10k (2nd in M15); 4th Overall at Dishley Parkrun and another great run & time at the Nottingham 10k - well done Ben!

This weekend there was success for Will Pattison who achieved an impressive PB in the Derby Half Marathon and, further afield, Pete Wiseman was first in his age category at New Ross parkrun, County Wexford.

A busy week for parkruns sees success for both Rachel Anderson and Louise Harman, taking 1st in their respective categories. There was also success at the Edinburgh Marathon for Richard Thompson!

At the Clawson 10k Richard Keep was first home for Barrow & Andrew Unitt took the MV60 trophy & a bag of local cheese! Another fantastic performance by Karen Bell saw her run a 7 min PB at the West End 8 & she picked up the FV50 prize.

This weekend brought impressive results at the Bosworth Half Marathon, where Karen Bell ran a PB of 1.36.41 and was also 1st V50 and Veteran Female County Champion!

There was some early Easter bling for Amanda Stanbridge & Julie Felstead from the Social 5k which raised £2,000 for Maggie's Cancer Charity, Nottm. Also, lots of Parkrun Participation, inc. several PBs & a 2nd place for Alex Toll at Milton Keynes.

As we spring forward an hour to the summer runs, this weekend saw the latest LRRL race at Desford, along with some fantastic achievements from Helen James and Dan Robberts in a track marathon and cross country league respectively.

A busy weekend with glorious weather and excellent running to match. Karen Bell and Niamh Lowe finished 2nd & 3rd lady respectively in the Charnwood Marathon (15m) and in the Ashby 20 Julie Pattison achieved a fantastic PB by 1 hr and 1 sec!

The weather offered some challenges this weekend, nevertheless three intrepid runners completed the Inaugural Barrow Runner Bean Off Road Marathon, and spring marathon preparation got into full swing with the Notts 20 and Oundle 20.

A fantastic performance this weekend by Helen James in the Bedford Barkers 6 Hour Track Challenge. Helen completed an astonishing 163 laps (40.5 miles) and was 1st Lady, and only 4 seconds behind the first man - congratulations!

Two club championship races saw the Barrow team split between the Leicestershire Half Marathon and Grace Dieu XC – there were strong performances in both, with a win at Grace Dieu for Emily Ault and multiple PBs and age category wins at Prestwold!

In a hard weekend of racing in icy conditions, we had a large number take on the Charnwood Hills Race, with age category wins for Tim Hartley (Vet 50) and Malcolm ‘Bomber’ Harris (Vet 65). On top of that, the Barrow men won the team prize.

Geoff Beetham was flying the Barrow Flag at the Midland Cross Country Championships. A strong contingent ran the Forest Rec Parkrun. James Smith was 2nd overall and Emily Ault the 1st Lady.

It has been a quiet weekend for racing. Helen James, Andrea Winkless, and Paul Bentley were flying the flag up at Holme Pierrepoint in the Six Hour Challenge, with Helen running the most miles (36 of them in 5hrs 10mins) out of the ladies.

A strong team of 31 Barrow Runners turned out for Bagworth Heath Cross Country in wet, windy and muddy conditions. In a great result for the women’s team, Emily Ault, Kristie Matthiae, Janine Ainscow and Karen Bell all finished in the top 15!

A tenacious trio took on the Huncote Hash this weekend. There were 344 runners and Sam Cleveland finished 7th in 44:15; Rob Beers was 72nd in 54:21 and Malcolm ‘Bomber’ Harris came 76th in 54:44.

Congratulations to the Barrow Runners Mixed Team who were Runners Up in Division 3 of the Leicestershire Road Running League, scoring maximum points in 5 out of the 9 races. Division 2 here we come!

This weekend saw a Parkrun win for Janine Ainscow, who was first female at Dishley and also set an age group course record – and over at the Clowne Half Marathon, massive PBs for both Will Pattison and Julie Pattison!

A busy weekend for the Barrow Runners indeed. Eight races on road, at night, through woods, and over fells (plus 8 Parkruns). There was 27 of us out at the Holly Hayes XC (which made Andy Price happy).

Barrow Runners were out in force at the Seagrave Challenge, whilst there was an age category win for Ben Hewson at the Coalville 10K. Elsewhere, Gillian Hailes flew the Barrow colours in the USA for the Las Vegas Rock n Roll 5K and Half Marathon. Well done everyone!

A good turnout at the Shepshed 7 with Tim Hartley and Ben Plummer finishing second and third respectively. Also a special mention to Bob Aird who has competed in the race since it started 18 years ago - he has been granted free entry for life!

The XC season kicked-off with two strong teams at Launde Abbey and an impressive 3rd for Geoff Beetham. There were 6 hours of Hell on the Humber for Helen and Andrea. Amber Lester came 2nd in the Leicestershire 10K and Sam Cleveland 2nd at the Skeleton Run.

Two Barrow teams travelled down to Wolverhampton for the first XC action of the season (at the Midlands XC Relay). Plus an impressive age category win for Bomber (HM), a first lady position for Helen James and Amanda Stanbridge reached her 100th Parkrun.

The marathon runners were out in force this weekend, with superb performances both at home in Leicester and away in Palma. Special mention goes to Joel Payne, who was guide-running his friend in the Leicester Marathon and helping him home in a massive 14 minute PB.

Magnificent Marathon Running this weekend! Alex Toll ran in England Colours at the Chester Marathon, finishing in a fantastic time of 2:53:00. Whilst ‘down under’ in New Zealand Gareth Jones was 2nd in the Mount Cook Marathon, in an excellent time of 3:02.
