Leicestershire Road Running League (LRRL)
Barrow Runners is a member of the Leicestershire Road Running League (LRRL), which means all Club members are eligible to run in all LRRL races. Races include the Swithland 6, Bosworth Half Marathon, Steve Morris 5, and our very own Prestwold 10k in June.
The races range in distance: 5, 6, 7, 8 miles, 10Ks and a half marathon.
The results of each race are used to calculate scores in an individual league and in a team league, with prizes for various age categories.
How to be part of the Barrow team
As a member of Barrow Runners, you are automatically part of the Barrow team when you enter and run any LRRL race. You don't need to ask or be asked to be part of the team.
Simply enter (online) a race you like the look of, turn up, run in Club colours, and finish.
Your position in the results (based on chip time) will automatically determine how many points you contribute to the Barrow team:
- Men - first 6 for Barrow to count (reduced from 8 in normal years) - any age group
- Women - first 4 for Barrow to count (reduced from 6 in normal years) - any age group
- Vet Men - first 4 for Barrow to count
- Vet Women - first 3 for Barrow to count
- Mixed - first 4 men and 4 women for Barrow to count - any age group
The League tables are updated throughout the series until the Awards' Evening in the Autumn.
The Barrow men, women and the Vet women are in Division Two this season. The Vet men and the mixed team are in Division Three (let's push for promotion!!)
The LRRL site has more information on how the scoring works.

- Friendly, community spirited events, with some healthy club rivalry to make things interesting
- Good value - much cheaper than races staged by professional organisers
- Discover some of Leicestershire's finest scenery and running routes
- Most races are within a short distance, so you can get on with the rest of your Sunday
Entering races
Races need to be entered online in advance. Most races use the same Event Entry website.
All races will be open to club members only for the first week of entries. After this, races are free to open up any remaining places to the general public.
Race entry opening times are posted in advance on the Club Facebook group, in the monthly newsletter, and on this page.
You will need your England Athletics Unique Registration Number (URN) to affiliate your entry with Barrow Runners. Check your URN on the My Details page.
Race organisers allow you to transfer your entries to another runner if you are unable to run. There is a cut-off date for this, so chances are you will be able to transfer your place. If you are unable to run, please offer your place to other members first on the Barrow Runners Facebook group. If it is still available, then offer on the Leicester Runners Facebook group.
Most races sell out, some within an hour of entries opening. Races that typically sell out quickly are highlighted below.
