The races

  1. 14th May: Mad Mile. The first race is a mad mile at the track. You can bank this time but can also try and beat it as this will be run again as the final race of the championship.
  2. 31st May: West End 8, a league race and an opportunity to stretch the legs a little further. Nice countryside, with a few downhills! Entries open 5th April.
  3. 9th June: The Pint and Pork Scratchings 5, a run in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity. A Tuesday night in Epperstone, with a drink in the village pub afterwards. Entries open now.
  4. Three Club Challenge: provisional date of 17th June, awaiting confirmation from our hosts, Stilton Striders. A run in the sun before we all sit down to dinner together.
  5. 11th July: Victoria Embankment parkrun. A new parkrun and an opportunity to get a V for our parkrun alphabet as well as a PB on a fast, flat course.
  6. 26th July: Garendon Gallop: a welcome return for a local race, starting from Loughborough. Good for wildlife spotting, particularly equine.
  7. 5th August: Joy Can 5. One of the shortest league races. Loads of parking. A post race club celebration at the local hostelry is likely to follow - keep your eyes peeled for details.
  8. 16th August: Newark Half Marathon - fast and flat. PB possibility if the weather stays below 100 degrees!
  9. 13th Sept: Hose 10 - a new league race, so news is sketchy although I am reliably informed that all the other races around Hose have been flat!
  10. 18-20 Sept: Equinox 10k - your best 10k of the weekend in the grounds of Belvoir Castle. This is not flat, but you won't be able to see the hills if you are running a leg in the dark!
  11. 4th October: Rotherby 8 - this will be the last league race when we need everyone out to get us over the line to win trophies or stave off relegation! Not flat!
  12. 17th October: Watermead parkrun, followed by a celebratory breakfast at the Hope & Anchor.
  13. Mad Mile 2. A bonus opportunity to improve on your time for the mad mile. Your best time of the two efforts counts - or just do one if you can't make both. This will be a Ratcliffe track probably on the 23rd October.
