We start with two huge congratulations:
Congratulations to Andrea Winkless for completing IRONMAN Wales and finishing 5th in her age category with an incredible time of 14:18:15, and congratulations to Amber Lester for winning the Leicestershire Road Running League ladies title after her 1st female finish at Rotherby 8.
Truly inspirational performances from both of you!
32 Barrow Runners completed the hilly Rotherby 8 course on a very sunny and hot Sunday morning. Although this race concluded the Leicestershire Road Running League, it was also a part of the Barrow Runners Summer Championship, which is still ongoing.
Other running action from the weekend included Louise Caskey taking part in Marathon du Médoc, a marathon with a difference, where runners are encouraged to dress up and enjoy the wine and food on offer at the aid stations.
There was also more triathlon action with Chris Trzcinski and Russell Lewin taking part in the Belvoir Castle Olympic Triathlon, Martin Mee taking part in the Belvoir Castle Sprint Triathlon, and Neil Cobley taking part in Outlaw X.
Elsewhere, Cheryl Jackson took part in the South Coast Ultra Challenge, a 57km walk from Eastbourne to Hove taking in the sights of Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters, and Fiona Mee took part in the Wilne 10K.
Plenty of Parkrun action this weekend as usual, with 20 Barrow Runners taking part across 10 different Parkruns.
