After a fun Presentation Evening on Friday, there was still plenty of racing action throughout the weekend with parkrun, Run Alton Towers, Derby 10 and the Matthew Walker Christmas Pudding 10K.

Whilst the rest of the Presentation Party go-ers nursed sore heads, Lorna Goodacre, Rob Phillips, Ann Hillier, Nigel Hillier and Mark Sadler were impressively up and out for parkrun on Saturday morning. Lorna travelled to Markeaton in Derby and Rob travelled to Cannon Hill in Birmingham. Ann, Nigel and Mark stayed locally at Dishley.

We had parkrunners at other local venues including Abbey Park, Beacon Hill, Braunstone, Rushcliffe and Watermead. Further afield, we had runners at Alvaston, Arrow Valley, Banbury, Irchester, Sandringham, Sence Valley and Thorp Perrow.

On Sunday, there were three races involving Barrow Runners. The Derby 10 saw Tim Don, Ollie Hatton, Mark Platt and Mark Lingham take on the 10 mile course, with Mark Platt securing a 10 mile PB. At Run Alton Towers, Naomi Harvey, David Buxton and Danny Hall ran the half marathon, with David Buxton achieving a PB. Also at Run Alton Towers was Kirsty Hillier who ran the 5K event.

The Matthew Walker Christmas Pudding 10K saw Andrea Winkless, Rebecca Chandler, Kathy Robinson, Alison Cherry and Collette Porter take on a 10K course in Derbyshire. Andrea Winkless was 1st in her age category and Andrea, Rebecca and Kathy won a prize for being the fastest ladies team.
