Seven Barrow Runners ran the Tittesworth Water trail races this weekend on, and I quote the website here, "challenging terrain". Sounds like great fun! Amazing Kirsty Hillier came back from some broken ribs at the end of May to win the 23km race in a stunning 2 hours, 16 minutes and 14 seconds, with Malcolm Harris and Nigel Hillier completing the course within 4 minutes of each other. Danny Hall took on his first ultra in the 50km race, being encouraged round the course by experienced ultra runners Jon Richardson and Adam Law. This happy trio finished in just under 7 and a half hours, by which time Michael Cheverton, who came 5th overall in a fabulous time of 4 hours and 30 minutes, was probably enjoying a well deserved cold drink somewhere.
The third and fourth races in the Holme Pierrepont Grand Prix series were held this week, with Chris Jackson and Paul Leaney running well in both of them. George Burdett joined them for the fourth race where he melted the tarmac with a brilliant 5km PB time of 18 minutes and 45 seconds.
Martin Mee also enjoyed some PB glory at the Outlaw Half Holkham 70.3 triathlon where his excellent form earned him PBs in all three disciplines and a PB overall by more than 20 minutes. Well done, Martin!
