It was all about the first race of the Winter Championships this week with the 16 mile off-road Seagrave Wolds Challenge. Plenty of Barrow Runners enjoyed the 'interesting' route across countryside, under bridges, through fields of cows, a bit of rock climbing up Mountsorrel Memorial Hill, and finishing with a sprint through some allotments. Lots of Barrow Runners came out to support and photograph the event, providing enthusiastic encouragement. Well done to Michael Cheverton who came first overall in 1:51:51, and Anna Munday who was the first female in 2:16:13.
As well as running 16 miles across the Charnwood hills, Mark Sadler decided to take on a night race in Market Harborough this week. The Tunnel Vision 5 mile race takes runners through the very long and very dark Oxendon Tunnel. Mark came an impressive 53rd out of 324 runners.
Tess Kay took her running all the way to the other side of the world where she came first in the her category at the Metung 10km, Australia.
