The 'Run'down - 16 March 2026

This weekend has seen a plethora of results in various events. It started for some with their Couch to 5k graduation run at Watermead on Saturday, where much of the club joined them to celebrate and give motivation and applause! They were led over the past 10 weeks or so by our skillful coach Rob Phillips, who himself ran a fantastic time and came in 15th place overall. This meant the oppurtunity to eat cake in cellebration, and also in preperation for the XC race on Sunday for those doing the double.

What a weekend for XC it turned out to be, with Barrow taking threee trophies in this years Derby Runner XC League(s). Barrow Ladies, winners of division 1, Barrow Mixed team, winners of division 1, and Barrow men, winners of division 2 and moving into division 1 next year. There was so much to celebrate that Sue was not going to miss that opportunity, but was carried straight off for some aftercare once the silverware was received. Get well soon Sue.

Some individual efforts worth mentioning too, Hannah Bibb took on the Barcelena Marathon in a PB time, and Hollie Elliott got her first Sub 90 Half since 2017 at the Liverpool Half Marathon in which Fiona Mee also took part. Well done all.
