The inaugural parkrun Mob Match vs Shepshed, a speedy 10km and half marathons in Prague and Berlin

The sun shone brightly on Sence Valley Forest Park on Saturday morning as 37 Barrow Runners shuffled their way round the lakes, over bridges that looked identical, and up a surprisingly steep, but thankfully short hill to take part in the inaugural Barrow vs Shepshed Mob Match. With the main criterion for scoring being the parkrun age grading, the match was more about getting people together, than running really fast. After all three of the (yummy) "spot" prizes were won by Shepshed runners, it was only fair that Barrow Runners were the Mob Match champions by 1320 points to 1266. Kudos to Dawn Storer who achieved the highest age grade of all Barrow and Shepshed runners at an amazing 82.71%, the 15 Barrow Runners who were new to Sence Valley parkrun, and the 11 Barrow Runners who got a Sence Valley parkrun PB. Apparently the celebratory food in the garden centre afterwards was top notch. We look forward to the next Mob Match.

Elsewhere Jake Blythe ran a blisteringly fast 10km in Wolverhampton earning him a new PB time of 34:23 and 8th place overall. Ronald Muhumuza and Liam Harvey travelled to Europe to take on the Prague half marathon and the Berlin half marathon respectively.

As it's the start of the Easter holidays there were a few Barrow Runners undertaking tourist parkruns in Great Yarmouth, Bognor Regis, Scunthorpe and Greenwich.
