The RUNdown - 18 May 2026

On Thursday the Mad Mile kicked off our summer championship. An even 50 runners took part, with the top spots claimed by Ruben, Liam H, and Ian H in the men's race and by Liv, Poppy, and Millie in the women's.

On the other end of the distance spectrum, two of our runners took part in the Ultra Trail Snowdonia. They spent much of the weekend being rained on, sinking into bogs, and getting lost in the clouds with no visibility. Lee finished the grueling 100k course on Sunday morning, having spent just over a day out on the trail. A little later on, but having set off on Friday afternoon instead of Saturday morning, Michael G finished the 100 mile race while "seeing many things that didn't exist". Astonishing efforts, both of you!

In the more civilised world of road running, three Barrow Runners took part in the Market Harborough Half.

At parkrun, there were a lot of strong performances, podium places, and age group results. The list of results will speak for itself!

Our youngsters had a strong turnout at Watermead junior parkrun. Another future superstar, the Robinson's granddaughter Isabel (age 4) made her junior parkrun debut.
