The RUNdown - 1 June 2026

This week saw the fifth race of the LRRL and second in the Club Championship in the form of the West End 8. Over 40 Barrow Runners took part, with Michael Cheverton achieving another second place finish in the league.

Outside of the impressive performances at West End, we had a number of ultra trail runs taking place as Ben and Harry took on 100km in the Peak District (supported by Poppy, Katie and their pack of dogs!). The updates throughout the day on the WhatsApp chat were great to follow, and it sounded tough for the spectators too.

James Watkins completed the Welsh 1,000m race across the mountains/fells of Eyri, which looked like a very technical race for both climbing and descending. We also had another ultra event with Malcolm and his daughter completing a two day event over in the Lake District as a great team effort.
