The RUNdown - 1 September 2026

The Hermitage 5 took place at Mallory Park on Thursday. As usual with the Leicestershire Road Running League races, a large Barrow contingent turned up, looking to boost team rankings, chase individual results, or maybe just have a change from the usual Thursday run.

There are only three races left in this LRRL season, with the Hose 10 and the Markfield 10k currently open for entries. So join in on the action while you can!

This week's parkrun results included a third place for Dawn at Sence Valley, second for both Rachael and Nick at Pomphrey Hill, and first for Tim at Beacon Hill!

On the other side of the globe, Jon ran the iconic Sydney Marathon in just over three hours. Also Down Under, and despite sampling the best of Australian wines the night before, Lee ran his second fastest 5k ever at an Adelaide parkrun,
