The RUNdown - 7th September 2026

Alex Toll completed Marathon du Medoc as part of a group of 4. 27.2 miles, of over 20 wine tastings, and managed about 15 (lost count) and 1 beer quite sensibly I would say the oysters were skipped!! Steak, fromage and ice creams completed the feast/run. Due to the 31degrees and wearing a wig & moustache as the mandatory 1980's fancy dress theme meant the run Took nearly 7 hours but ahead of the sweeper "tank" - "great, fun event but if anyone is interested, arrive early to get near the front and avoid the queues & bottlenecks."

Harry O'Brien bagged himself a PB at the Cloudtrail Half Marathon. George (Arnold) Burdett meanwhile ran the Bedford Half with a decent time and 1st in age category finish. Mark Sadler completed his 141st diferent parkrun with an age category win, and disperal of his worries about ageing slowing him down with a sub 25 minute finish!

The weekend wrapped up with a flurry of club members snapping up their place for the upcoming Rotherby 8 League race.
